Linocut Love

Towards the end of last year I started to fall in love with linocuts, linoleum block carved stamps for printmaking. Watching techniques from different artists on instagram inspired me to try it myself. I found the whole process very therapeutic. The art of carving requires a steady hand and focus but it is something you can get lost in, which made it very relaxing. For my first project I decided to create some printed fabric to make gifts for my family during the holidays. I carved two beta fishes and made a pattern on some fabric. This did take me a good amount of time but I was very happy with the outcome and was able to cut and sew tiny pouches for my family. I will defiantly do more prints like this in the future.
