Power Jackets
Power Jackets With this year being as crazy as it was, being locked in the house felt like a gift for some creatives. I know personally I have had so many projects with loose ends from over the years and being inside made me focus on them more. One ongoing project in particular are my Power Jackets. If you are not familiar with them, they are thrifted or recycled denim jackets that are painted and styled to become a unique piece of art!
I have been working on these for a few years now, just teasing my progress though Instagram and Facebook but never fully posting them. I think I have been afraid to post them for fear of rejection or not being able to make enough since they do take some time to create.
While being stuck at home I was determined to really focus and take charge of this project and get it up and running. I couldn’t do this without the help of Lauren Hom, a designer and hand lettering artist who I am very fond of. Lauren, via Instagram, has built up her brand by doing what she loves, which sounds simple right? She offers a class called Passion to Paid that helps scatter-brain artists, like myself, work on projects they love while also streamlining the process from start to finish. This class has been a HUGE help to get me off my ass and make my idea a reality. If you have time I would highly recommend you check her out www.homsweethom.com
In the upcoming month I plan to fully launch all my jackets once I get some proper photos of them. I am very excited to share them finally! I've been seriously slacking! Thanks for reading.
